Is Kentucky ready for a NBA team ?

Could DeMarcus Cousins be coming back home?
Is the Big Blue Nation ready to cheer on a NBA team?  Is the NBA ready to take up roots in Kentucky?  J. Bruce Miller thinks so.  He is an attorney who has been hired by the Louisville city council to entice an NBA owner to make the move to Louisville.  Bruce claims he has a "billionaire" investor ready to sign on the dotted line, bringing the NBA to the Big Blue Nation.

Rumors are flying around the NBA that Sacramento may be the team ready to make a move out of California.  This would bring Kentucky's favorite basketball big man, DeMarcus Cousins back to the Commonwealth. Also, Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets are in the mix of discuss. Last week, the team was taken over by the NBA because of poor financial performance.  Again, this is all rumors at this point.  If Bruce is right however, the NBA may be coming to Kentucky sooner than later.

John Calipari has some interesting comments about the possibility of the NBA moving in next door.  Calipari stated " "This state is driven by the city of Louisville," Calipari said. "It is. Anything that's good for the city of Louisville is good for our state. I believe (the NBA) is good for the city of Louisville, which makes our state even better. That's just my opinion. That's one of four million."

  1. I believe the only question or concern is will the love for college basketball translate to the love for NBA basketball in the Bluegrass. It will take the right team, owner, and coach but I believe KY is fertile ground for a NBA team.

  2. I agree to the point that it is yet to be determined if the fan base will follow a NBA team as it does college. I would like to find out though!
