In all around outstanding effort, the Kentucky Wildcats outplayed their in state arch nemesis, Louisville Cardinals. The game was really tight for the first 5 minutes , as the Wildcats traded baskets with the Cards. Around the 15 minute mark in the first half, oddly the same time Doron Lamb went to the bench with 2 fouls, the Wildcats turned up their defense. After all the dust cleared, and holding off a one man run by Knowles for Louisville, the Wildcats ended up the victor.
The Everything Kentucky Player of the Game goes to Josh Harrellson for his awesome performance. I have never saw Josh have a more complete game, in such a big game, as he had today. Josh Harrellson ended up with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and a huge 3 in the second half.
I think it is important to note, even though Terrance Jones didn't score like he normally does, Terrance Jones had an outstanding performance as well. Terrance punished the defense each and every time he drew a double team. Harrellson was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of more than one of those passes out of the double team.
The Kentucky Wildcats didn't do everything perfect, but they did enough to satisfy me. If they can continue to grow at the rate in which they are currently, this Kentucky Wildcat team with be a force to reckon with, with or without Enes Kanter.
