#AnthonyDavisSaysShutUp - Kentucky Defeats North Carolina 73-72

The long awaited matchup between Kentucky and North Carolina has finally came and gone.  In the most anticipated game of this early season Kentucky defeats North Carolina by a score of 73-72.  The game played better than advertised , as both teams played with energy and fire.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist came up huge in this game.  Without him, I'm not for sure the Cats would have pulled it out.  Kidd-Gilchrist seemed to be in the right place at the right time on many possessions.  In an earlier post, I said that Kidd-Gilchrist is the glue that holds this team together.  I am so glad that he proved me right today.  He forced Harrison Barnes into foul trouble early. He shot the ball well from the perimeter, and also made big time offensive plays when Kentucky needed it.
For 39 minutes, Anthony Davis was quite in his first match up with the Tar Heels.  Henson and Zellar made life difficult for the super freshman for most of the game.  He really couldn't get into much of a groove, at least not one that we are used to seeing from him. But then, along came minute number 40.  On the biggest stage in college basketball and in the biggest defensive stance of the basketball game, Anthony Davis blocks a would be game winning jumper from Henson.  #AnthonyDavisSaysShutUp Go Big Blue !
