How it all went down! The Madness!
After the longest four days in history, the camping is finally over. A few friends and I made our way down to the craziness on Tuesday night around 1:30 am. We walked toward the legendary memorial coliseum to find already 100's lined up waiting for 7 am to roll around and rush to memorial coliseum's front lawn to set up their tent. Wednesday morning rolls around Coach Calipari greets everyone and was as friendly as Mr. Rogers from Mr. Rogers in the neighborhood. Corn hole, and football throwing filled the rest of the day until around 9pm that night. The blue courts has always been the happening spot the last two years I've went. Anthony Davis, Ryan Harrow, Darius Miller, and Jorts joined the UK faithful for a little fun as they played some basketball with fans which consisted of Harrow, Miller, and Jorts lobbing the ball anywhere around the rim to Davis. They put on a show that night...really exciting to see Davis, and Harrow play, and great to see jorts back. Thursday followed with the same, and then around 8:30 or 9pm the fans were fed with Papa John pizza by the players and that was followed with autographs from the players. But the biggest moment for me was having a 15 minute conversation with "the dancing rupp guy," who outside of dancing is a really funny guy. The main highlights of the conversation was that his real name is darren(not for sure on the spelling) but people think he's a dog and he can dance just whenever, and he's really tired of the song mony, mony. So sound people at rupp, you guys need to change it up a little. Friday was another long day, which started with Gilchrist bringing us breakfast and then it was rest time from our group for the rest of the day. UK sent us off with a special appearance from Boogie aka Demarcus Cousins as him and a few players threw hamburgers out to fans. After the burgers being thrown, and the players playing with some kids. The wait was over and all the crazy fans including myself lined up for tickets. I hate to write so much about my experience but I really wanted to share it. October 14th will defiantly be madness!
