Bruce Pearl Leaving the Game of Basketball

Bruce Pearl announced today that he has decided to step away from basketball.  Instead, he has taken a job with a grocery store chain, H.T. Hackney Company.  And yes, I am not kidding.  I could not have made something like this up. Turns out that Bruce will be head of marketing for the chain.

Former Wildcat name came up during Federal Trial in connection with a Cocaine ring

Derek Anderson's ( former Wildcat from 1996 National Championship team) name was given during a Federal trial of Ricky Kelly. Kelly is being charged with murder and racketeering.  During the testimony of Francois Cunningham, Derek Anderson was cited for funding a drug ring that all three where alleged to be involved in. Below is the statement from Mr. Cunningham :

Butler: "Was Derek Anderson ever present when you all bought narcotics?"
Cunningham: "Nah, he stays away from you know, he's just the money and he's not going to get around any of it but, that's who funnels the money."

It is important to note that at this time, no charge have been made against Derek Anderson.  So far, his name has only came up.  If more details are released , I will report them as soon as I hear new information.

A Forgotten Unforgettable?

- 2011-
Last night's game between the Pros and the Dominican team was filled  many highlights and exciting plays.  Something happened off the court that was just as interesting to me, in which only a few people saw and even fewer paid any attention to.
Richie Farmer, former Kentucky Wildcat and member of the Unforgettable s, who now is on the lower half of the Republican ticket in the next Governors race, had a very interesting exchange with a Rupp Arena usher and security last night.  Richie was simply walking the baseline trying to get to the back during the game when a usher stopped him.  I was too far away to read lips or hear the conversation, but the look on Richie's face told the tale.  Apparently, that particular usher has been under a rock for the last 30 something years and didn't know who he was addressing.  The usher refused to let Richie pass. Finally, after a few seconds and a couple of exchanges, a security guard came over, and let Manchester Kentucky's favorite son, Richie go by.  Richie was laughing by the end, but I'm sure that usher will be hearing it from his boss. How do you work for Rupp Arena and not know who Richie Farmer is.  I mean, come on ! He's an unforgettable.  That means he can't be forgotten ! Well, for a few moments last night, by a Rupp usher, he was forgotten ! This struck me as funny and odd at the same time !

Kentucky Hate from Knoxville Radio Host

-Terry Fair, former UT player now radio broadcaster at WNOX 100.3 FM Knoxville, had some interesting words about Kentucky today.  On his daily sports talk show, The Drive, Terry showed quite the resentment for everything Kentucky.  At one point during the show, Terry said that the SEC should " get rid of Kentucky and Vanderbilt".  Yep, you read that correct.  He suggested that the SEC would be better off without the University of Kentucky.
Now, this is the United States of America, and a man should be able to speak freely.  Likewise, a man is allowed to respond freely as well.  I think the Big Blue Nation should do just that.  I have linked below, the contact page for WNOX radio.  Let's flood their email in reponse to Terry's "Get Rid of Kentucky " Campaign.
