Trevor Lacey down to 2 schools
According to NationofBlue.com, the Trevor Lacey recruiting saga is coming to a close. The big news is that he is no longer considering Kentucky, per sources. Trevor Lacey has pegged it down to 2 schools, Alabama or Auburn. Now, I am not going to say for a fact he isn't coming to Kentucky due to the fact I saw Terrence Jones put on a Washington hat, yet he's got the Big Blue uniform on this year.
Doron Lamb will return to Kentucky for his sophomore season
Doron Lamb told the media that he will be returning to Kentucky next season, instead of entering into the NBA draft. This is great news for next years CATS !
Brandon Knight becomes LEGEND . Kentucky defeats Ohio State 62-60
For the second time in the NCAA Tournament, Brandon Knight takes the game in his hands during the final seconds of the game and hits the dagger that sends Ohio State home. Slowly, Brandon Knight is becoming a legend in the UK uniform. The matchup of the century happens Sunday, as Kentucky will now play their arch rival North Carolina Tar Heels in the Elite 8.

Guess Who's Back? Tubby Smith?
Mike Jones is reporting that Tubby Smith is very close on signing a deal with the Arkansas Razorbacks that would send him back to the SEC. Every news source and inside connection I have(all 1 of them) is reporting the same thing, saying it will be announced soon. Welcome back Tubby. Can't wait for that Arkansas Kentucky game at Rupp.

Kentucky is a # 4 Seed in the NCAA East Region - Will Play Princton in Tampa Florida
Even thought the Kentucky Wildcats rolled through the SEC tournament, the NCAA comittee did them no favors by placing them as a # 4 seed. Who is the number 1 seed in the bracket? Ohio State. This should be interesting. See the entire bracket at CBS .
Kentucky is the 2011 SEC Champions - Darius Miller MVP
Despite a Doron Lamb injury that didn't seem like an injury at all, the Kentucky Wildcats won the SEC Championship for the second year in a row. Kentucky was led by the SEC Tournament MVP Darius Miller, who can away with 15 Points and 6 rebounds against the Florida Gators. The Wildcats are peaking at just the right time. This is really a team that will be hard to beat on a neutral floor, and things are looking really good for the Big Dance. Check back later as I will have a link to the official bracket , and hope to report a good seeding for the Wildcats.

Doron Lamb Injury Update # 2
Despite reports I'm hearing this morning that Doron Lamb is still listed as doubtful, I found this video of him from last night, in which Doron Lamb says that the Doron Lamb injury isn't keeping him from playing. Watch for early in the video, Doron Lamb says " I'm playing in tomorrows game" This may mean something , or just the kid being hopeful. We'll see.

Doron Lamb Injury Update

Kentucky Rolls Tide
The Kentucky Wildcats rolled the Tide with a complete game today. They move on to the SEC Tournament Final tomorrow. The real story out of today's game is the apparent injury of Doron Lamb and DeAndre Liggins. With only minutes left in the game, both players went down with a ankle injury. DeAndre's injury doesn't concern me as much as Doron Lamb and his injury. Lamb landed very ackward on his ankle, in which you see caused Doron Lamb much pain. Let's all hope and pray he heals really quickly, and that it looked worse than it worse. I'll have more later on the injuries.

All Grown Up - Kentucky defeats Ole' Miss
Kentucky showed a whole lot of maturity as they closed out the game against Ole Miss today, with a win 75-66. Despite getting into foul trouble Darius Miller really came up big when we needed him. It seemed as if every time the Rebels went on a run, Miller would post up and get a basket. In the end, Brandon Knight decided that the Cats would not lose this game. He came up with huge baskets , and finished strong at the foul line. The only concern would be the play of Terrence Jones, who grilled his ankle early in the game. I think that ankle injury took a little away from Terrence Jones game today. Alabama tomorrow ...........

Take that Scotty Hopson
Oh, I didn't see Scotty Hopson doing the John Wall dance after today's game against our Kentucky Wildcats. Thanks to DeAndre Liggins, Scotty went 2-10 from the field today. DeAndre is by far our best defender, and he is proving it game after game. Good Job Deandre, and Go Big Blue!

On the Road Again........... I don't think so !
If there is one thing that can be said about this years Kentucky Wildcat team, it would be that this team stinks on the road. We can't find a way to win away from Rupp Arena. I start to wonder, it is Rupp Arena, or is it the Big Blue atmosphere that our Cats are missing? Remember the South Carolina game? It was a road game that we came out with a victory. What was the difference? The crowd! If you think back, boosters from UK bought a huge number of tickets to send fans down to South Carolina to watch the Cats play. I remember at one point you could here " Go Big Blue" louder than the Carolina fans. ESPN caught a huge amount of Blue in the stands.
My point is this, I don't think Rupp Arena is the difference. Rather, it's the fan presence that the difference. Well, you probably thinking, "Duh , Sam.....if you on the road you won't have fans there" Yeah, mostly your right, except when it's on a neutral court , in with both the SEC and NCAA tournaments will be. If past years hold true, every gym we play in will become a mini Rupp Arena during our tournament run. Our Cats are undefeated this season in front of a favorable Rupp Crowd(let's just forget that UCONN game)! I don't think we need to worry about our road troubles. If the Cats can't take the Rupp atmosphere with them during the tourny, let's bring it to them! The more fans we have, the better I think we'll do! Go Big Blue

Shabazz Muhammad latest news; Gilchrist, and Davis Jr Named To The Final Four For The Player of The Year Award
Evan Daniels of scout.com has reported that 2012 recruit Shabazz Muhammad is considering Kentucky and UCLA as his two leaders. Shabazz is a 6'5, 190 pound shooting guard out of Las Vegas, Nevada. According to rivals, he's ranked 3rd nationally and is #1 among shooting guards in the class. Could be a big pick up for the cats in the 2012 season.
Two Future Kentucky Wildcats Make the List of The Four Best players In High School
Couple of UK cats made the final four list for the Player of the Year award. According to Jody Demling of the courier journal, Anthony Davis Jr. who is standing to the far left in the picture above, and Michael Gilchrist standing far right in the picture above both made the final four for the high school player of the year award. They are joined by Duke and UNC commits Austin Rivers, and James McAdoo. Congratulations to both Gilchrist and Anthony Davis Jr. on the accomplishment. Could be the beginning of something special.

Kentucky wins a close home at home 68-60. Terrence Jones gave them a chance with 1 second left to go when he was called , for the 3rd or 4th time in the game, with traveling. Kentucky did .then,. pull it out , with a great defensive stop! Go Big Blue!
The NCAA plays the bully against John Calipari, takes away his 500th win
Gus Johnson, who is the head of the NCAA statistics department, said Monday that the NCAA will not recognize Coach Calipari's 500th win against Florida. Mr. Johnson cites the NCAA rule that coaches can not count any games vacated by the school he coached. He is referring to UMASS and Memphis. There were much debate on this subject recently, even on this site, but now we get official word. The bad news is that the NCAA is again flexing it's muscle against Coach Cal, the good news is Coach Cal will officially get to celebrate 500 wins with his next 42 victories.
