Darius Miller Has Career High, Coach Cal gets his 500th win as Kentucky takes down the Gators
That's how it should be done. Darius Miller marks another career high with 24 points. I'm starting to see a trend. Whenever Darius Miller is our top performer, Kentucky wins. Is Darius finally becoming the star we know he can be? I think he is!
Coach Cal set a career milestone with his 500th win.(I know about Memphis and UMASS, but they still count according to ESPN). It could come to no better opponent than arch rival Florida. Great job Coach Calipari!
The bottom line, Kentucky wins 76-68 . If you want to see a detailed box score, check it out here , BOX SCORE .

The Blame Game, Terrance Jones says " If me or Josh don't get (the ball), the other team is going to get it !
Check out around the 2:35 mark on this video. The question is " Why aren't you getting getting defensive rebounds at the end of games? Terrence answer sounds like he's calling out the other players on the team! Good Stuff!
Calipari says there won't be any Draft Cats this year
VIA KSR
John Calipari has some interesting words about the upcoming NBA Draft. "as of this moment, he wouldn’t encourage any of his players to enter the NBA Draft at the end of the season"

Brandon Knight has 5 chances to win, but can't get it done
Kentucky loses again on the road. This has is becoming a huge concern, as we all know you can't win the NCAA tournament at Rupp Arena. Again, Kentucky had plenty chances to win, just coming up short. At the end of regulation, Brandon Knight got two good lucks but to no avail. Later, at the end of over time, Knight drove to ball missing a tough runner, got the offensive board and threw up a prayer, missing on that one as well. With a little over 1 second left, Knight tried again to win the game from the corner, not even drawing iron. Arkansas wins 77-76 .

We can't forget an Unforgettable
I know that all eyes on on the Florida game this Saturday. I hope that our player, coaches and fans don't overlook John Pelphry and his Arkansas Razorbacks. For starters, it will be another road test for our Cats. As you all know, the road has not been really friendly toward us this season. The second thing, Arkansas has a pretty good overall home record. They are 14-3 at home. Like a certain Wildcat team, they are much more comfortable down in Arkansas.

Darius Miller becomes a Star
Darius Miller had a career game today against South Carolina. It was on of those days that he would do no wrong. Miller scored a career best 22 points, while knocking down 6 three's. He also stopped just shy of a double double with 9 rebounds.
It's obvious to see that when Darius has a good game, Kentucky's day will be a little easier. UK completely routed South Carolina today by 35 points. I hope this effort by Darius carrys over to the rest of the season!

Injury Update : Darius Miller may not play
Larry Vaught is reporting that Darius Miller may not play Tuesday against Mississippi State due to a groin injury he received at Vanderbilt. This would be an added test for this young Cats to play without Miller. It's always tough when a 6 man rotation becomes a 5 man rotation due to an injury like this. Calipari is quoted to say "If he can't play, that gives someone else a chance" . I hope Miller gets better in a hurry!

DeMarcus Cousins suspended after punching teammate
News is circulating all over the internet that former Kentucky Wildcat DeMarcus "Big Cuz" Cousins has been suspended by the Sacramento Kings. Reports are saying that an argument with teammate Donte Green turned ugly when fists started swinging.
Apparently, the argument was over a end of game situation against the Thunder. With only a few second left in that game, Donte Green passed the ball to Tyreke Evens instead of DeMarcus, which Big Cuz was not pleased with.
This is the second big story about DeMarcus this week. Earlier, he was ejected from a game for the first time in his career after being T'd up twice. Clearly, Big Cuz needed another year with Coach Cal, and Coach Cal needed another year with DeMarcus.

Matt Jones of KSR has given up on the Kentucky Wildcats
Matt Jones, of KSR and CBSSports, has officially given up on the Kentucky Wildcat's chances this season. In Matt's recent article he states that he doesn't believe that our beloved Wildcats can make any type of deep run in the Big Dance. It is a sad day when Matt Jones loses hope in the Wildcats. See the complete article for yourself at CBSSPORTS.COM
Daniel Orton still has faith in Kentucky, even after the Vandy loss

Them Cats will be fine. Vandy is a tough place to play but, they'll get back in the gym and be straight tho
Kentucky can't figure out how to win on the road
For the 5th time in SEC play, Kentucky goes on the road and loses to Vanderbilt 81-77 . Kentucky was able to keep it close until around 3 minutes to go in the second half. At that point in the game, Vanderbilt switched to a 2-3 zone that confused our young player. DeAndre Liggins made two pivotal mistakes that lead to turnovers as he tried to drive into the zone.
Until those two ill advised drives by DeAndre, it had looked as it he was going to step up as the leader of this really young and raw Kentucky Wildcat team. Liggins played very emotional all game, even picking up a technical foul in the first half because of his emotional outburst. I did not mind that technical at all as it showed that he was going to give it his all this game. In the end, Kentucky still could not find a way to pull it out and win one of the road.
With March less than a month away, now is the time for Kentucky to hit the panic button. To win the NCAA tournament, you must win on the road. As of now, winning on the road is not something this Kentucky Wildcat team is capable of. DeAndre Liggins must keep his mindset , in which he is playing as the leader of this team. If that happens, you'll see fewer late game breakdowns. My only concern is that we only have a month left.

Coach Calipari uses Boxing as way to send message to team
"Look, you got to be rough, you've got to be willing to fight. You've got to be willing to take somebody's stuff. You can't let people take our stuff.'" -Coach Calipari
John Calipari's message to the Kentucky Wildcats is one about toughness. In order to bring that idea to light for this young team, Coach Cal brought out the boxing gloves. The trainers hung up the heavy bags and the Wildcats began to beat their frustration out on it.

Super Bowl Sunday was a time for Super Promises for the Wildcats
During a team get together during Super Bowl Sunday, our good friend Jerry Tipton reports that the Wildcats sat down and made several promises to each other.
Just to name a few:
■ Doron Lamb: "Sprint the floor."
■ Terrence Jones: "Rebound the ball."
■ DeAndre Liggins: "Rebound."
■ Brandon Knight: " 'I will run this team.' "

The Top Five Reasons the Kentucky Wildcats defeated Tennessee
5. Teamwork - For the first time in a couple of game, the Wildcats played as a team on both ends of the floor
4. DeAndre Liggins - DeAndre answered the call and played the game of his life.
3. Doron Lamb - With team minutes left in the half, Brandon Knight sat down with 2 personal fouls. Doron stepped up and took over the PG position in which lead the Wildcats into the half with the lead.
2. Josh Harrellson - Jorts is back! Josh grabbed 6 rebounds and scored 16 points. With these number from him, everything is so much easier for the Wildcats.
1. The Free Throw Line - The Charity Stripe was kind to the Wildcats at Rupp. Kentucky left the game shooting over 81 % from the line.
Honorable Mention :
Jimmy Dykes repeatably referring to the "nail" in the middle of the free throw line

Is it time for Kentucky to hit the Panic Button?
After the terrible road showing that Kentucky has played so far this season, is it time for us to hit the panic button? Yes and No.
Looking from a fan perspective, we should not yet hit the panic button. Yes, we have had some trouble on the road. Yes, we have lost some close game. Overall, we still have had a really good season thus far. The losses that we did come up with , aside from UCONN, was really close and could have gone either way with a different bounce of the basketball. Brandon Knight is becoming a leader, and developing each game. We have tons of potential still, and a month left before the big dance.

The same old song and dance ! Kentucky comes back to wind up just short of the victory!
In what is becoming a consistent theme for Kentucky on the road, the Wildcats came back from a double digit deficit Florida lead only to come up just short of getting a "W". Lack of execution in the final seconds of the game once again spoiled a terrific come from behind run. Brandon Knight had a chance to win the game, but short fell short and hit front of the rim. It was really a broken play that Knight tried to salvage. Stay tuned for comments and videos of post game coverage.

Saturday Night against Florida Must be Miller Time
It's Miller time ! After one of his worst performances of the season, and a public apology to the big blue nation via twitter, Darius Miller must redeem himself Saturday Night against Florida. The Florida Gators are ready for Kentucky. The ESPN College Day crowd will be on hand. All eyes will be on this game ! There is no better time than now for Darius Miller to have his "BREAKOUT" performance. Miller has the ability and the know how to control a game on. It's Miller's heart and confidence that is in question. If the Kentucky Wildcats want to salvage the remainder of this SEC in hope to win the conference, Miller must perform to help defeat the Gators down in Gainsville !
Seth Davis predicts Florida over Kentucky Saturday Night
Courtesy SI.com
Your friendly neighborhood CBS sports caster, Seth Davis is picking Florida over Kentucky in the rival match up tomorrow. Here is his reasoning :
I've been pretty bullish on Kentucky for most of the season, mostly because I'm waiting for this young team to grow up. The irony is, it's not the Wildcats' freshmen who are letting them down -- it's the upperclassmen. When 6-10 senior center Josh Harrelson went for 23 points and 14 rebounds in the win at Louisville, it looked like the start of something really good. It turned out to be the end, as Jorts hasn't broken double-digit scoring in a month. While freshmen Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb were combining for 57 points at Ole Miss Tuesday night, DeAndre Liggins and Darius Miller were combining for eight. I might give the 'Cats an edge in this one if the game were at Rupp, but they are going up against an older Florida team that is brimming with confidence, having won four of its last five (including Tuesday's escape at home over Vanderbilt in overtime). Chandler Parsons had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win. The Gators are at their best when they play through him. - Seth Davis

Kentucky Basketball Recruit Injured!
According to Oregonlive.com, Kentucky Wildcat recruit Kyle Wiltjer left his game early last night due to a lower leg injury. He reportly left the floor on his own power, but have no reports of his condition now! As soon as I find out more, I'll let everyone know!
While out on the recruiting trail this week, and unable to make the show...I came across a guy who is interested in the Cats...2013. Yeah 2013...hate to skip a couple of years but with Cal at the helm...you have to stay on your toes...enough with the hoopla, check this possible, maybe, hopefully Cat out! He goes by the name of Tyrek Coger and just a warning, a Louisville commit is shown at the beginning of the video in Rodney Purvis...so if you want to skip it go ahead...or if you want to see what the cards will be losing with by then....it's available to ya!
and you might also get a Roy Williams sighting in there...not that you cared or anything but enjoy the video.
