The year that almost was............
What a ride. If you are a Kentucky fan, you have been on a emotional roller coaster for the past two years. What we've seen this year was amazing. Kentucky basketball came alive again, with arguably the best coach in the business, the best point guard to ever wear the blue and white uniform in John Wall, super big man DeMarcus Cousins, and our fan favorite Patrick Patterson. I just knew this was the year we make it back to the Final Four, however all us Kentucky fans forgot one thing. These are kids who where in High School this time last year. Somehow and some way, they found a way to win basketball games making us forgot how young these kids are. Fast forward to today, March 27th and we realize that these kids didn't understand how to handle the pressure after falling behind a couple of baskets in the biggest of games on one of the biggest of nights. They waited until today, but the freshmen in them showed up. What's worse still, we will most likely not get a chance to see how this team could respond next March, because most will be moved on the the NBA. We have in our hands the potential in 2, or maybe even just 1 year to have the greatest college basketball team of all time, however............ we wont get a chance to see because of the NBA. Well, maybe Brandon Knight can do what John Wall couldn't.........to next year! Go Big Blue

Tip Off is slated for 7 :00 PM Saturday
One more win away from the Final Four! This is the man , and the team that stands in our way. My personal opinion is that WVU got a bad deal from the NCAA committee, as they and not Duke should have the the # 1 seed in the Tournament. Anyway, this is going to be by far our toughest test of the year, even though the Mountaineers are down because of their star point guard's injury. I really think John Wall, Patterson, Cousins, and Bledsoe are going to step up this game , and we'll come out with a victory. 3 more wins to go and we'll be hanging up # 8...............
More recruiting news
Billy Donavan and the Gators are no longer recruiting the best high school player in the land, Brandon Knight. I think it is pretty safe to start welcoming Mr. Knight to the Bluegrass
John Wall's good buddy C.J. Leslie says that he has his schools down to N.C. State or Kentucky
Rivals.com # 3 in the country five star recruit Terrance Jones has Kentucky at the top of his list, along with Washington, Oregon, UCLA and Oklahoma . The Albany Democrat-Herald (of all places) reports that he will be signing with the Cats next season.
Meet Enes Kanter
Enes Kanter has signed a letter of intent to UK. Check out this European phenom that's going to be at Rupp next season. By the way, in this game, he had 32 points and 25 rebounds. Not a typo, 25 rebounds!
Blue defeats Red 62 - 45
Kentucky showed versatility, playing a different style than we have seen all year. Cornell was a much touted 3 point threat, in which Kentucky all but stopped on Thursday. They held Cornell to just 5 three's, in which is only half their average. On the offensive end, it was really a poor performance for the Cats, finding most of their success in the paint. Despite an off shooting night, they still found a way to dominate their opponent on the defensive end. That's what champions are made of! Go Big Blue

Kentucky wins 90-60
Kentucky blows out Wake Forest 90-60. Darius Miller had his best game of the season. Eric Bledsoe had the best dunk of the Tournament . DeMarcus Cousins dominated the paint, keeping his cool even though they absolutely killed him physically inside. John Wall put up his usual # 1 draft pick numbers, making some of the best passes I've seen all year. Josh Harrellson had a put back slam. Jon Hood showed us a little of our future with a behind the back out of bounds save. Mark Krebs hit a three! Kansas goes home! What more can we ask? Go Big Blue!
It's Miller Time!
The "Everything Kentucky Player of the Game" is Darius Miller. The numbers where 20 points, 9 Rebounds, and 2 Assists. I'm glad to see Darius have a great game!

Everything Kentucky Player of the Game
Eric Bledsoe is the "Everything Kentucky Player of the Game". Eric scored a career best 29 points and broke the University of Kentucky record for most three's in a NCAA Tournament game, knocking down 8 from downtown. Who held the old record? Mr Tony Delk. Is there any questions about UK's three point shot ability now?

Kentucky wins SEC Tourney Championship
What a game. This was one of the best basketball games that I have seen in a long time. Kentucky comes out on top 75-74. DeMarcus Cousins make the play of the day with .1 seconds left in regulation to tie the ball game, after a John Wall miss. Then in OT , it was John Wall time, as he hit a huge 3 that I have no idea how went in. Big Cuz then sealed the deal from the free throw line.

Kentucky wipes the Floor against the Ex-Cons, win by 29
Kentucky shows why they will be a # 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament as they blow out the Vol's 74-45. It's was a great game from UK, as they did most everything right. Rebounds was a huge concern for Coach Cal. The Cats responded winning the rebounding battle 40-26. They also answered any questions about their ability to shoot from the outside. UK ended up at almost 37 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down a total of 8 threes.
Player of the Game? Hands down, it goes to Big Cuz. DeMarcus filled the stat sheet up :19 Pts, 15 Reb, 1 Ast, 3 Stl, 2 Blk

One down.......bring on Ole Miss or the Ex-Cons
Kentucky meets and overcomes it's first one and done situation. The Cat's struggled in the first half, only to show how much they have really grown up and made a big run in the second! My Player of the game is actually, Players of the Game. John Wall, Patrick Patterson, and Eric Bledsoe are the Everything Kentucky players of the game! John Wall showed why he will be the # 1 pick in next years draft. Patrick showed why is a leader, and took control on the middle in the second half. Eric was key to that run we made early in the second half, knocking down a big time jumper, and slashing to the basket.
John Wall featured on ABC
John Wall was featured ABC's Road to March Madness. The people at WildcatWorld.com put this up on their youtube account. You guys need to go check out their site, Wildcat World
Want another reason to dislike Tennessee and Bruce Pearl?
If the Scotty Hopson dance after the Ex-Cons put up a W against our beloved Cats did not anger you enough, here's some more fuel for the fire. After the Ex-Cons went 4-23 from 3 point land against LSU in the SEC Tourney, Bruce Pearl gave his analogy on how the Vol's played " “We looked like Kentucky out there launching those things”
Bruce, I didn't need another reason to dislike you, but you gave me one anyway.

Kentucky beats Florida 74-66
Kentucky ends the year a perfect 18-0 at home. With Vanderbilt being defeated by South Carolina, Kentucky clinches their sole rights to the SEC regular season championship. I thought this a very good game, as likely it will be the last time we watch John Wall and Patrick Patterson at Rupp Arena. Maybe DeMarcus Cousins too. Here's a quick glance at the Box Score :
John Wall : 11 points
Patrick Patterson: 13 points
Eric Bledsoe : 14 points
Darius Miller : 14 Points
Darnel Dodson : 10 Points
Big Cuz : 8 points

Should I stay or should i go..........
There is a lot of talk about who will be staying and who's going up to the Draft after the season. We all know that John Wall is going to be the # 1 pick. Patrick Patterson is going to be honored on Senior Day, so I would think that must mean he has already made his mind up, even though that's not what he says. How about Big Cuz? We've all watched as different analysts like Duke Vitale(not a typo) and other have projected our favorite Cousins as a lottery pick. Well, according to USA today, that may not be so. This article reports that DeMarcus told Coach Cal he wants to come back for his second year. I don't know if I believe it or not, but I think another year for maturing would definitely help Big Cuz, and may land him a # 1 pick in next years Draft. Read the article yourself here, USA Today Article

Kentucky beats Georgia 80-68
Kentucky did everything that they needed to do to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs. Their defense was excellent, they shot well from 3, and got production from the bench. John Wall had another all around game and one big time left handed dunk. Darnell Dodson remembered how to shoot the ball for the first time in a month or so. Good job Cats, and GO BIG BLUE
Must Win Game
Tonight's game against Georgia will be a first for Kentucky, a must win game. What's on the line for UK tonight? A # 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and a much easier road to the Final Four. Georgia too, has much on the line. If they beat Kentucky and go deep into the SEC Tourney, then they would make a strong case to be invited to the big dance. What does it all boil down to? Kentucky has everything to lose, and Georgia has everything to gain......

Who do you want to see do the John Wall Dance?
Patterson to be honored on Senior Day
The announcement was made that Patrick Patterson will be honored during the ceremonies on senior day. I think this is a great decision and Mr. Patterson deserves it. It speaks volumes that Patrick will be graduating this year, in only three years of college. It shows how much of a hard worker Patterson is.
